Now that we are already in the Facebook age, isn’t it nice
to reminisce all those things that we usually do during the Friendster era?
Along with Myspace, High 5, and Multiply; Friendster was the
most widely used social networking portal way back early 2000s (I was in
college then).

I wanted to look back to those things that I
definitely missed doing with Friendster.
Here’s my list.
1. Pa-testi
naman! Asking for testimonials is one of
my usual Friendster routines. I post
something about my friend—on how we first met, what can I say about him/her,
and my touching parting words to end my testimonial… Then I’ll say, “Pengeng
testi ha?” at the end of my post. Talk
about expecting something in return huh? :P
2. Bulletin
board. Well for me this shouldn’t be called
such, instead should be called as “survey board”. If I got nothing to do and Friendster-ing,
this is a good time killer. I searched
on a sample survey that I usually saw at the bulletin board back then. Check this out. : )

Moving on...
3. Who’s viewed my
profile? Now this is the ultimate thing
that I missed in Friendster. Facebook doesn’t
have this feature. That kilig moment
whenever I check those who viewed my profile and I saw my crush visiting my
profile. Hehehe. But I cant visit his
profile back because I don’t want him to think that I’m stalking him. LOL.
4. Picture
albums. That moment when you have to
choose one picture over another for upload because you can only upload 5 photos
on your profile. Hahaha. But Friendster improved over time.
5. Featured
Friends! There is a special spot in your
profile dedicated to your Friendster friends that are closest to you (or
profiles that you just wanted to be featured in your page). I remember the moment when I asked my close
friend, “bakit hindi ako kasama sa featured friends mo? Best friends tayo diba?” SMH.
6. The Shoutout. This is the counterpart for Facebook’s “What’s
on your mind” post. Any one or two liner
that you want to say to your Friendster friends, you put it here.
